GLENDALE–The Armenian Relief Society of Western USA, Inc. has established the United Iraqi Relief Fund Committee, a community based organization charged with aiding Armenia’s in Iraq.
The creation of the Iraqi Relief Fund was commended and blessed by Western Primate Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and Western Prelate Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, as well as the Armenian Catholic and Evangelical Churches.
The War in Iraq and the subsequent collapse of stability in the country has left Armenian-Iraqi’s, once a healthy and vibrant community, in dire need of financial and moral support.
The United Iraqi Relief Fund has organized a "raffle sale" to raise money for its activities and seeks the support the community. An appeal letter is also scheduled to be sent to all our Armenian community members.
"As in the past, the ARS is confident that with your support we will be able to overcome these difficult times and ensure the survival of our bothers and sisters in Iraq," said an ARS representative. "The time has come to stand up and make a difference, for we are all part of the greater Armenian family."
You may forward your tax-deductible donations to A.R.S. United Iraqi Relief Fund, at 517 West Glenoaks Blvd., Glendale, CA 91202.
