Glendale ANC Gears Up for Genocide Commemoration

GLENDALE–The Armenian National Committee Glendale Chapter recently announced a roster of activities to commemorate the 93rd anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Below is a complete list of the activities

Annual Blood Drive

Hosted by the Armenian National Committee – Glendale Chapter in collaboration with the Armenian Relief Society – Sepan Chapter, City of Glendale – Week of Remembrance Committee and the American Red Cross.

Monday, April 21
Man’s Inhumanity To Man

Hosted by the City of Glendale. Speakers for the evening will include: Dennis Doyle, Ramela Grigorian, Roger Bowerman, Rev. Berdj Djambazian.

8th Annual Armenian Genocide Remembrance Program
Doors Open at 6:30 p.m.
Event Starts at 7 p.m.
Glendale High School Auditorium
1440 Broadway, Glendale, CA
Presented by the GUSD High School Armenian Clubs from: Clark Magnet High School, Crescenta Valley High School, Glendale High School, Hoover High School & a special presentations by Elementary School Students (D & M Education). Each school will contribute a portion to the assembly, ranging from guest singers and poetry readings to video presentations and traditional dances.

Thursday, April 24
Armenian Genocide

Hosted by the City of Glendale. Keynote Speaker: Carla Garapedian (Director and Producer of the documentary "Screamers) Artistic Program Produced by Artists for Kids; Performances by: Gegham Grigoryan, Mikael Avetisyan Chamber Orchestra, Jivan Gasparian Jr. Tickets are available at the Alex Theater Box Office.

Armenian Genocide Commemorative Event
8 p.m.
Glendale Civic Auditorium
1401 N. Verdugo Rd., Glendale, CA
Hosted by the Armenian Genocide United Commemorative Committee. Program will include guest speakers and cultural performances.

The Glendale ANC also reminds the community to buy Shushan Lavash from April 14 to 30 and support the local ANC chapter. Through special partnership, five percent of sales proceeds from Shushan Lavash will be donated to ANC Glendale.
Shushan Lavash may be purchased at Jons Markets, Kozanyan Market, Super King Market and other locations
