Russia Working for Karabakh Resolution, Duma Speaker Tells Azeri Counterpart

BAKU (ArmRadio)–Russia is doing its best to create the conditions for a successful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict, Speaker of the Russian State Duma Boris Gryzlov said in Baku on Tuesday.
"We hope that the upcoming meeting between the Armenian and Azerbaijani Presidents on the sidelines of a Saint Petersburg Summit will create real opportunities for the continuation of the negotiation process," Gryzlov told Speaker of the Azeri Parliament Oktay Asadov.
"Russia, as a Co-Chair country of the OSCE Minsk Group, has real opportunities to exert influence on the other participants of the negotiations," Gryzlov said. "We can create the conditions for the negotiation process."
During their meeting, Asadov said that he hopes Russia intensifies its efforts at solving the conflict.
