Co-Chair Says Not Right Time for Karabakh Part in Talks

BAKU (Armenpress)-The OSCE Minsk Group’s Russian Co-Chair Yuri Merzlyakov Wednesday said that it is too early to speak of Nagorno-Karabakh’s participation in negations with Azerbaijan over the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict.
After the main principles of the conflict resolution are approved, nothing will impede the participation of Karabakh’s representatives in discussion, Merzlyakov told Trend news agency.
Armenian and Azerbaijani presidents are expected to meet in June on the sidelines of a non-official meeting of the heads of CIS countries.
In this regard, Merzlyakov said that Armenia’s new president is well aware of the current developmen’s over Nagorno Karabakh.
"I think this meeting will be very practical if the two sides display constructive approaches and are ready to discuss the basic principles," Merzlyakov said.
