AUA, UN Armenia to Host Rural Development Conference

YEREVAN (Armenpress)–The Topanjian Rural Communities Development Program of the American University of Armenia and the UN Armenia Office are set to host Thursday their second annual conference on Armenian Rural Communities Development.

The UN Armenia Office told Armenpress that the conference will focus on projects implemented in 2007-2008, as well as development issues and possibilities.

Experts will present education and health programs designed to help rural communities develop, they will also discuss the importance of inter-community unions, issues pertaining to community property management and agricultural goods sale.

The conference will be attended by Armenia’s Economy Minister Nerses Yeritsian, the UN Coordinator in Armenia, UNDP Resident Representative Consuleo Vidal, President of the American University of Armenia Harutyun Armenian, and representatives from international and local organizations.
