ANKARA (Combined Sources)–The Head of Turkey’s state-funded Turkish Historical Society Yusuf Halacoglu was removed from his post Wednesday, reported the Anatolian Press Agency.
He will continue teaching at Ankara’s Gazi University. The reason for his dismissal has not been made public yet.
Halacoglu, who is notorious for making bizarre statemen’s regarding the Armenian Genocide, is also wanted in Switzerland and would face trial based on that country’s law on Genocide deniers. He served as the Turkish Historical Society’s head since 1993.
