Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Meets Ahmadinejad

YEREVAN (Armenpress)-Armenia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Gegham Gharibjanian met with Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Wednesday during a visit to Tehran to participate in the 15th meeting of foreign ministers from countries in the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

Gharibjian, who was in Tehran as an observer to the NAM meeting, held private talks also with the Foreign Ministers of Belarus, Turkmen’stan, Lebanon, Syria, and Kuwait. He held talks with the Kuwait’s deputy prime minister as well. The NAM meeting began

According to the Armenian Foreign Ministry’s press office, Gharibjanian also met with Iranian Foreign Minister Manoucher Mottaki to convey his government’s gratitude for the inclusion of 3 Armenian churches in Iran to the UNESCO World Heritage List. The meeting also confirmed Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian’s upcoming visit to Iran.

Gharibjanian also spoke to Mottaki about the status of agreemen’s reached at a session of the bilateral economic cooperation commission, which Mottaki co-chairs. The two also outlined the agenda of the upcoming session scheduled to take place in Tehran.
