Pasadena Azadamard Picnic Celebrates Community

PASADENA–As it has become a yearly tradition, the Pasadena Asadamard chapter held its annual summer picnic on Sunday, August 24 at San Dimas Bonelli Park.

Members, athletes, cub scouts, brownies and scouts–friends and family–nearly 300 people in all gathered on a hot California summer day to enjoy each other and celebrate the accomplishmen’s of the chapter.

Headed by Salpi Labbad, the picnic committee had seen to every detail to make the event enjoyable.

While older participants engaged in their customary Blot tournamen’s, youngsters were thrilled by a host of activities and prizes offered by the picnic committee.

Chapter executive chairman Sarkis Garabetian thanked everyone, especially members of the picnic committee who toiled to make the event a success with abundant food and activities.

He thanked all for their support–especially athletes and scouts and their parents for their dedication.

Garabetian thanked the official picnic sponsor Vrej Pastry, stressing that the bakery consistently supports initiatives of the Pasadena chapter and executive. Vrej Pastry is a longtime Pasadena establishment that has recently expanded operations by opening bakeries in Northridge and Glendora.

And after 8 hours of outdoor fun and food and Armenian music, during which time a part of Bonelli Park had transformed into a full-fledged Armenian center, picnic-goers headed home.

The Azadamard chapter will hold it annual dinner dance on September 6 at Pasadena Armenian Center.
