Glendale Ghapan Sister City Association to Celebrate its 5th Anniversary

GLENDALE–The Glendale Ghapan Sister City Association will hold its 5th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the historic Alex Theater. The evening is set to feature a VIP cocktail hour and a cultural program, which will feature a keynote speech by Glendale Mayor John Drayman, variety of live performances, and a visionary tour of the rich cultures that embody the cities of Glendale and Ghapan,

“The City of Glendale is greatly honored to be a co-sponsor of the Glendale Ghapan Sister City Association. Please accept our best regards on this Fifth Anniversary; and our pledge for continued support of this jointly beneficial partnership as well as a toast for furture success,” stated Zizette Ayad, Community Relations Coordinator of City of Glendale.

The program, which is set to exemplify and celebrate diversity, will also highlight the historical backgrounds of the other two sister-cities to Glendale, Rosarito Beach and Tlaquepaque, Mexico, though dance and music. In addition, community members and public officials will have an opportunity to learn about GGCSA’s past accomplishmen’s as well as its future plans of serving the two communities.

“The celebration will not only serve as an opportunity present the accomplishmen’s of GGSCA in the past five years, but will also allow the Association to relay its gratitude and appreciation to the City of Glendale for its continued effort to building bridges locally and within our sister-cities,” noted GGCSA Board Member, Arpi Andonian

The GGCSA 5th Year Celebration will take place on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at the historic Alex Theater, located 216 N Brand Blvd, Glendale, CA 91203. The Glendale Ghapan Sister City Association was established in order to cultivate economic cooperation and cultural interchange between the cities of Glendale and Ghapan. The GGSCA pursues programs, projects and opportunities that foster goodwill and understanding, as well as cultural, educational, and economic cooperation between Glendale and Ghapan.
