The Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Society will be holding a dinner banquet and recognition ceremony on Sunday, as part of a series of events organized throughout the year in celebration of the organization’s 80 years of service to the Armenian community.
The program, which is set to begin at 5pm .in Montebello’s “Baghramian” Hall, located at 900 W. Lincoln Ave. Montebello, CA 90640. Admission: $60, will include performances by Lark Musical Society, Hamazkayin Ani Dance Group, and singer Razmig Mansourian. Hamazkayin’s Western United States Regional Executive Chairman Dr. Viken Yacoubian will be the evening’s keynote speaker. Also present will be Hamazkayin Central Executive Vice Chairman Mr. & Mrs. Megerdich Yapoudjian from Lebanon.
It has become tradition to hold a public celebration, with organization leaders and community members alike, in honor of such landmark occasions. In Hamazkayin’s case, it has also become a momentous tradition to formally recognize and award its extraordinary leaders with its highest honor during its anniversary ceremonies. Such honors are bestowed upon exceptional individuals who have been lifelong devoted leaders and have contributed their exemplary service, particularly for the prosperity and accretion of the Armenian culture.
Hamazkayin’s 80th Anniversary will be an opportunity to further strengthen the organization’s activities and create a new atmosphere, as well as to reaffirm the organization’s undertakings to the community.
Hamazkayin United States Representative Edward Misserlian, on behalf of Hamazkayin Central Executive, will recognize lifelong teacher Carmen Der Garabedian and maestro and Director of Lark Musical Society, Vatche Barsoumian, with its highest honors.
