Aliyev Says Karabakh Conflict Should be Settled Peacefully

BAKU (ArmRadio)–Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, who regularly threatens to launch a new war to reocupy the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic said Friday he believes the longstandiconflict can and should be settled peacefully with Armenia.

"We believe the resources of the negotiating process have not been exhausted and our adherence to the peaceful process is the main argument that confirms our constructive approach," he said in an exclusive interview with the ITAR-TASS.

Aliyev’s remarks come days after Armenian President Serzh Sarkisian declared at the Munich Security Conference on February7 that although Armenia’s don’t want war, they are not afraid to defend Karabakh against Azerbaijani aggression.

Sarkisian was speaking to international defense experts, ministers and more than a dozen heads of state or government had gathered in the German city for a three-day summit to discuss the world’s leading foreign policy concerns.
