GLENDALE–Armenia’s new Consul General to Los Angeles Grigor Hovannesyan visited the Armenian Revolutionary Federation Western US Central Committee’s Peshekerian Center for a reception welcoming him to the community.
ARF Western US Central Committee chairman Avedik Izmirlian accompanied the Consul General on a tour of the facilities, which included the offices of the Armenian National Committee-Western Region and the Armenian Youth Federation.
There to welcome Hovannesyan were Armenian Relief Society Central Executive chairwoman Vicky Marshlian and fellow member Nova Hindoyan, Homenetmen Central Executive member Koko Balian, representative of Western Prelate Father Muron Aznigian, Prelacy Executive Council chairman Dr. Garo Hagopian anda fellow council member Garo Eshgiyan, Board of Regents chairman Mark Guedikian and fellow member and Glendale College Board member Armine Hacobian, Hamazkayin Regional Executive chairman and principal of Alex Pilibos School Dr. Viken Yacoubian, ARS Regional Executive member Seda Martir, Homenetmen Regional Executive members, Armenian Educational Foundation chairman Alex Baghdasarian, ARS and AEF leader Haigoush Kohler, as well as representatives from local ARF chapters, the ARF Shant Student Association, AYF and the ANC.
The Consul General was accompanied by Vice-Consul Mesrob Shahbazyan, Armine Balian and Nane Ghazarian.
In his welcoming remarks, Izmirlian outlined the ARF’s and its affiliate organizations’ readiness to cooperate with Consular activities as one of the efforts to strengthen Armenia’s statehood.
Hovannesyan met each guest and pledged his willingness to work with all facets of the community.
