ISTANBUL (Marmara)–Only days after reopening an Armenian cemetery, which was desecrated in late October, cemetery administrators reported Monday that it had been violated again, this time vandalizes destroyed a headstone and desecrated several other stones.
Cemetery administrator Romano Djevedjian said in an announcement that it was brought to their attention Sunday that another attack took place, 20 days after city officials restored and reopened the cemetery.
The incident was reported to local officials, who pledged they would investigate the incident and would, again, repair the damage and would erect high fences to prevent any future attacks.
