An Evening With Peter Balakian

Armenian-American writer, poet, and academic, Peter Balakian will be the honored guest of Haigazian University Women’s Auxiliary at 5:00 p.m. on May 16, 2009, at the home of Mark and Paulette Giragos. The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Mark Giragos.

Dr. Balakian will be discussing the new chapters on Lebanon and Syria from the latest edition of his highly acclaimed book “Black Dog of Fate”—-with an emphasis on his experiences at Haigazian University as a visiting scholar. This will be followed by a book signing.

Balakian will also present the first reading of his most recent book, “Armenian Golgotha”–a translation of his great-uncle Grigoris Balakian’s memoir’s of the Armenian Genocide.
