ARS Summer Studies Program To Connect Armenian American Students With Their Roots

WATERTOWN–The ARS Eastern Region is launching its second Youth Connect Program taking place at Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., from May 31 through June 7.

Last year college students from California through Massachusetts attended the program which included visits to the Armenian Museum and Library of America, National Association for Armenian Studies & Research, different Armenian cultural centers, visiting the first Armenian Churches built in the United States, an assortment of lectures, sight seeing, and of course having a good time and hanging out in the Boston area.

This year’s program will be directed again by Professor Asbed Kotchikian, who along with the ARS is expanding the program to include visits to museums, educational activities, enjoying the night life of both Boston, MA and Providence, RI, all in conjunction with bringing about a great time, while making new friends, stimulating awareness of the Armenian identity and culture, and connecting the youth.

The program gives an opportunity for Armenian students that are both seniors in High School through college; to discuss and expand on every day topics that are youth related, to connect with peers from various parts of the US and to help them be aware of various academic and internship programs in the US and in Armenia.

The ARS Eastern Region is looking forward to spending a fun-filled summer with you this year once again, and is committed to catering to the needs of the youth and the community today. The friendships built from the experience of this weekend will last for a life-time of memories.

There is no participation fee except for an application fee of $100. Lodging, food and all other expanses will be provided for by the ARS. Participants are in charge of arranging and paying for their travel to Boston. For more information please visit or call 617-926-3801.
