LOS ANGELES—In keeping with efforts to remind President Obama of his pledge to recognize the Armenian Genocide and to express the community’s disappointment over his broken promises a demonstration is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27 to coincide with his visit to Beverly Hills.
The demonstration will take place from 3:00 to 6 p.m. at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, 9876 Wilshire Boulevard Beverly Hills, CA 90210.
Join the Armenian Youth Federation and the “Shant” Student Association in expressing the community’s profound disappointment in President Obama for not keeping his campaign pledge to recognize the Armenian Genocide.
“We are not here to label the President as a Genocide denier, but rather to raise our voices and our concerns regarding his broken promises,” said Arek Santikian, a spokesperson for the AYF. “We also want the president to realize how dissapointed the community is with his ill-advised cut in foreign aid to Armenia.”
“Obama has been a long time friend of the Armenian people, but his recent actions are showing us that politics in Washington, DC are more important to him than voicing his true convictions. This is truly disappointing,” Santikian added.
When you organize a demonstration against President Obama, please don’t be politically correct. He does not deserve it. He did not have the moral fiber to recognize the Armenian Genocide, and to cover his spineless behavior he played with words. Let’s not play with words as he did. Let’s say bluntly, “President Obama lied to Armenian-American community like his predecessors”.
Dear Arek, I know you are a smart and very good Armenian. Please don’t get mad of me and keep on working hard. We need people like you. I feel you are insulting our intelligence by using politically correct phrases such as “Obama broke a promise”, “he is not a genocide denier”, or “Obama has been a long time friend of the Armenian people”. How do you know if he is a genocide denier or not? We know he lied to us and he is a liar. God knows what he tells or promises to Turks behind the closed doors.
My fellow Armenians, the Armenians were/are being used like a pawn in international politics. I know one day the United States of America will recognize the Armenian Genocide. The Armenian Genocide recognition would have nothing to do with President Obama’s or any other future presidents’ promises. It will only happen when Turks make a big foreign policy mistake, and American government among other things will use Armenian Genocide card against the Turks.
Being blunt (as David suggests) will not do us any good. He has at least three more chances to do the right thing. Let us give him at least one more chance and then be blunt.
Dear Friends, I like to tell you all something that not even the senate majority nor Mr. President Obama will bring any changes to the Armenian Genocide that its been haunting us for 94 years. We have no more time to waist nor we need any politician in Washington or abroad to assist us arnymore. Our united Armenian people allover the world and Armenia can and will bring this changes alone. My beloved people here how we can change the caurse together and along. First, we must be reselute and one mind about bringing this changes. Second, we must all gather in washington at the white house where Mr. Presidend obama was innograted this year. Our gatherig should be not only in thousands like the Time Square , Los angelos
or anywhere else in the country, but, should be in the hundred thousands or more to at least.
Dear Friends, I like to tell you all something that not even the senate majority nor President Obama will bring any changes to the Armenian Genocide that its been haunting us for 94 years. We have no more time to waist, nor we need any politician in Washington or abroad to assist us anymore. Our united Armenian people allover the world and Armenia can and will bring this changes alone to reality. My beloved people, here how we can change the course together and along. First, we must be resolute and one mind about bringing this changes. Second, we must all gather in Washington at the White House where President Obama once this year, made unprecedented history. Our gathering should be not only in thousands like the Time Square , Los angeles
or anywhere else in the country, but, rather should be in the hundred thousands or more at least to make a history every year, and exactly should fall on April 24th. I call upon every one of you to stand and truly make your commitment for the crying innocent soles of our ancestors as well as the most recent Genocides happening today in the world. See, America always looked for oil rich countries and strategic allies like Turkey, Europe, Middle East and south America as well as Azerbaijan today, Also, America have an eye to take Russia slowly with playing soft now, gradually getting closer to post Soviet union countries. I think, that the time has come to go to our homeland and make it as stronger than ever and work hand in hand. Remember, that no one can help you , but yourself. Let us stretch our hand and knowledge and volunteer to our needy people in Armenia when you can.
As our forefathers have said “UNITED WE STAND”
This is a NATIONAL CAUSE. Not Dashanks’ , or ramkavaras’ and or Hunchaks’.
I commend in adjustant toour national anthemn we start singing our famous national song; “HERIK VORTIAK AISKAN TARI TARAPANK” in order to wake up our nation and stop putting our hopes on people and diplamats like Obamas’ Ordugans’ sin, void and evil promises!
Yours in Patriotism,
