RANCHO MIRAGE, CA–In celebration of Vic Darchinyan’s “knock out” win for the super-flyweight title in Rancho Mirage, California, an intimate group of Armenian Americans gathered to toast the internationally-known Armenian-Australian boxer.
The lunch was hosted by Armenian-Russian business leader and current President of the Union of Armenians in Russia and the World Armenian Congress, Ara Abramian. The private lunch provided attendees with an opportunity to toast Vic Darchinyan, the Raging Bull, and congratulate him on his recent win. The lunch was held at the Western Diocese in Burbank, CA on Sunday, December 13.
Abramian welcomed his guests, including Consul General of the Republic of Armenia, Grigor Hovhannissian, and raised a glass to toast Vic Darchinyan. He congratulated the boxing champion and asserted his excitement about Vic’s accomplishments and talent. Mr. Abramian continued to stress the importance of supporting young Armenians who excel in all endeavors—from education to politics to the arts.
“I have read about Vic Darchinyan and his winning streak in many publications. With gratitude to Mr. Abramian, it was humbling to meet and congratulate Vic on his most recent win,” said Pattyl Aposhian Kasparian. “He is a rock-solid pillar and shining beacon for our community—an inspiration and role model for young adults all over the world.”
Another toast was made to celebrate Vic’s father’s birthday as Vic dedicated his Saturday win against Tomas Rojas to his father.
