TEHRAN (FNA)-Iran and Armenia will double the supply of energy they swap after a new power transfer line connecting the two countries begins operating, Armenian Energy and Natural Resources Minister Armen Movsisian said.
Movsisian said that his country’s third power transfer line to Iran with a nominal capacity of 400kw per hour will be ready in 2013, adding that the construction phase will start in the second half of 2011.
Iran and Armenia have expanded their cooperation in energy transfers in recent years. Iran mainly exports natural gas to Armenia and imports electricity generated in Armenia through two transfer lines with a total power transfer capacity of 220kw/ph at present.
