Karabakh President Visits France

Nagorno-Karabakh Republic President Bako Sahakian

PARIS—President of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic, Bako Sahakian, arrived in Paris Sunday on a working visit, reported the Karabakh presidential office.

Upon his arrival, Sahakian attended Mass at St. John the Baptist Cathedral and later met with French Primate Norvan Zakaryan. The two discussed issues related to homeland-Diaspora relations, with Sahakian providing an overview of Karabakh’s domestic and foreign policy priorities.

Following the meeting, Sahakian laid a wreath at the Komitas monument, in the center of the city.

On the same day, Sahakian held a meeting with the board of “Support Karabakh” organization, and highlighted the importance of Diaspora’s engagement in the development of Artsakh.

Sahakian’s delegation included Karabakh Primate, Archbishop Parkev Martirosian, Armenia’s Ambassador to France, Vigen Chitechyan, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Culture Minister Narine Aghabalyan, head of the President’s information department, David Babayan and Karabakh’s representative to France Hovhannes Gevorgyan and other officials.
