$300,000 Raised for Burbank Community Center

A scene from Sunday's fundraiser

BURBANK—More than 250 community members and supporters gathered Sunday at the still under-construction Burbank community center for a banquet, during which $300,000 was raised for the center’s construction and administrative efforts.

Those in attendance got a firs-hand look at the construction of the center, which was acquired last year through the hard work and diligent efforts of the community.

Master of Ceremonies, and member of the Hamazkayin Armenian Educational and Cultural Association Central Executive, Dr. Viken Yacoubian, created a enthusiasm and excitement, which led to event participants to make generous donations.

Long-time community partner the Forest Lawn Foundation announced a donation of $150,000.

Asbarez will have extended coverage of this event in upcoming editions.
