PASADENA—Board of Education member Tom Selinske visited the Pasadena Armenian Center to meet members of the Homenetmen Pasadena “Azadamard” Chapter earlier this month. Selinkse is seeking re-election to the Board of Education in an election slated for April 19.
The ANCA of Pasadena has endorsed Selinske because of his experience and accomplishments as a current board member as well as his outlook and goals for the next four years. Selinske has in the past worked closely with the Armenian American community and has made a strong commitment to continue his close relationship.
“Having Tom Selinske meet our youth at the Pasadena Center is most welcome,” remarked ANCA of Pasadena chairman Shahe Bezdjian. “We have a deep concern about the quality of Pasadena’s public schools and we believe Tom is a person who has the experience and guts to make the right decisions for all students in our community,” Bezdjian added.
During his visit to the new Pasadena Armenian Center on Foothill Boulevard, Selinske had an opportunity to interact with dozens of scouts affiliated with the Homenetmen Pasadena “Azadamard” chapter. He also had an opportunity to visit the center and see the state of the art gym that has begun to draw an enormous number of youth to the community center on a consistent basis.
According to the Pasadena Weekly, “Selinske, a 10-year member of the Pasadena Education Foundation before he was elected, is endorsed by Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard, NAACP Pasadena Branch President Joe Brown and Pasadena City Council members Margaret McAustin, Chris Holden and Steve Madison. He is also backed by fellow Board of Education members Bob Harrison, Ed Honowitz and Elizabeth Pomeroy.”
Tom Selinske is currently a School Board Member, where he has also served as President, and Vice President. Tom obtained an MBA degree from Pepperdine University, Malibu, CA in 1994 and obtained his AA degree locally from Pasadena City College.
