GLENDALE—Chamlian Armenian School announced that on Tuesday, May 3, 8th grader Hagop Margossian, one of the Five Chamlian State Science Fair finalists, received an Honorable Mention Award!
Hagop previously won 1st Place in the county level competition before going off to state. His project was in the Applied Chemistry category titled “Enzyme-catalyzed Reactions- What Affects Their Rates? What Inhibits It?”
The judging for the State Science Fair took place at the California Science Center. It spanned for a period of two days, and the final winners were announced on Tuesday, May 3. 950 finalists were present to compete from 400 different schools across the state.
Chamlian Armenian School congratulated Hagop as well as the four other Chamlian students who worked their way up to the State level competition. The school extends its gratitude to Lida Gevorkian, Science Dept. Chair and Science Fair Coordinator, for her unwavering commitment in preparing the students for the 2011 Science Fair.
