ANCA-WR Encourages GOTV for Janice Hahn Election

GLENDALE—As electioneering approached its final day in the Congressional race to succeed retired congresswoman Jane Harman, the Armenian National Committee of America – Western Region encouraged voters in the South Bay to go to the polls on Tuesday, July 12, and cast their ballots for Janice Hahn.

In what is sure to be a special election plagued by low voter turnout, the participation of Armenian Americans in the South Bay will have a considerable impact on the results. Although the small but tightly knit community has contributed to the campaign throughout the past months, the closeness of the race has made their participation at the polls doubly important.

The seat that is up for grabs was vacated by Jane Harman, a noted Genocide denier in Congress, whose duplicitous behavior angered Armenian Americans across the country, but especially those in her district, many of whom had volunteered and donated to her campaigns.

Hahn has a track record of supporting Armenian Genocide resolutions while on the Los Angeles City Council and has been forceful in stating her continued support for proper Genocide recognition.

“We are encouraging all of our supporters who live in the district to make sure that they vote on Election Day, this Tuesday, so that Janice Hahn is elected to Congress to represent the issues that are important to us and to all people concerned with justice and human rights,” said ANCA-WR Board Chairman, Andrew Kzirian.

The election in California’s 36th district will take place on Tuesday, July 12. Find your polling location.
