To the Editor:
During the period from September 18 to 24 I was anxiously looking at every page of the LA Times to see any article about the 20-th anniversary of Armenia’s independence. Unfortunately there was NOT A .SINGLE WORD ABOUT ARMENIA.
Likewise, in Saturday 9/24 and Sunday 9/25 issues of LA Times there was NOT A SINGLE WORD ABOUT THE VISITING PRESIDENT OF ARMENIA S. SARKISSIAN TO LOS ANGELES , who arrived from New York where he delivered his Presidential speech at the UN General Assembly. This is simply an incomprehensible failure of PR!!!
Where are the leaders of our “patriotic” political, cultural and professional organizations representing around the half million Armenian community in S. California? Were they waiting for more important events to spend a few dollars and launch PR in reputable American press, not to mention local TV news channels, for the ultimate benefit of the Armenia Cause?
The silence of the Armenian Consulate in Glendale on these critical national news is also totally incomprehensible.
Is such a crying failure of PR work by the Armenian organizations the result of negligence or pure incompetence? APSOS!!

I discontinued my subscription to L.A. Times three years ago after having been a subscriber over twenty two years. L.A. Times represents the Turkish interests and has shown its bias to the Armenian community in L.A. and the Untied States. Not a single word when the President of Armenia arrives to L.A. but pages and pages of news when an Armenian commits a crime in L.A.
I suggest to all Armenians to drop their subscriptions to the L.A. Times.
No excuse.

It’s been long time that I or anybody that I know have even looked in LA times. I stopped subscribing long ago. Done with a pablication that has been catering to lot of hidden interests too many times.
I’ve learned through experience that the best way to get something done, even an article in the paper, is to go ahead and do it yourself. Why blame others when we are at fault for not doing some PR ourselves, like writing a letter to the editor or better yet, an article reflecting the 20th anniversary and the President’s visit. Most papers will comply with a forum letter or Op Ed piece.
The two rotten person behind the LA times is Eddy Hartenstein the Jewish publisher of the LA times
who naturally sees recognition of the Armenian Genocide as a threat to the Jewish claim that they are the ones who have suffered the most which could not be further from the truth. The Armenians have suffered just as much as the Jews have. As a half Jew/ half Armenian, I am disgusted by this and I see this as Jewish racism towards the Armenians.
