Armenian Government Moves To Avert Toxic Environmental Disaster

Responding to an outcry and dire warnings from ecologists, the Armenian authorities have moved to repair a toxic waste burial site near Yerevan that appears to have been dug up by unknown intruders several months ago. The Soviet-era industrial grave located near the city’s southern Nubarashen suburb contains more than 500 metric tons of DDT and other poisonous substances that had been used by Armenian chemical enterprises.

AYF to Revitalize Streets of Hollywood with 7th Annual Little Armenia Beautification Project

The Armenian Youth Federation is gearing up for its seventh annual Little Armenia Beatification Project when hundreds of volunteers are expected to mobilize in a unified effort to once again revitalize the streets of Hollywood. One of the most highly anticipated events within the Armenian community in South California, the Project is set to take place this Sunday, May 2nd.
