One of the main themes of the Pontifical Visit of His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, is the further strengthening of Armenian Schools, and His Holiness has repeatedly through his messages emphasized the unique importance of the Armenian School.

“This Consulate is our home, just as the Church and Armenia are our homes,” stated His Holiness Catholicos Aram I during a visit to the new headquarters of the Armenian Consulate General on Wednesday, October 12.

“The Fresno Armenian Community is one of the oldest Armenian communities established in the United States and has been extremely instrumental in keeping age old Armenian traditions, connections to the Christian faith, and deep rooted ties to the Great House of Cilicia”

His Holiness Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia, arrived in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Oct. 5 and was was accompanied by staff bearer Very Rev. Fr. Mesrob Sarkissian.

From the outset, the story of this highly accomplished, yet humble philanthropist is much like many others while at the same time extraordinary.

Western Prelate Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian, the Religious and Executive Councils, announced that on the occasion of the Pontifical Visit of His Holiness Catholicos Aram I, benefactors Mr. and Mrs. Osko and Yeran Karaghossian have donated $75,000 to be allocated to the Catholicosate of the Great House of Cilicia, the Western Prelacy, and Prelacy schools.
