Kurdish Activist to Keynote Evening of Tribute to Turkey’s Heroes of Conscience

The United Human Rights Council (UHRC) will hold a “Moment of Noise” this Friday, January 15, to pay tribute to the activists of Turkey who have been targeted, harassed and even murdered for their efforts to advance Kurdish human rights, Armenian Genocide recognition, and freedom of speech and equality. The event, titled “The Opposite of Silence”, will feature a blend of art, music, video and speeches.

Pasadena AYF Members and ANC Supporters Attend Program Highlighting Armenian Legion Heroes

A broad and diverse standing room only crowd of Armenian Americans recently attended a program highlighting an exhibit commissioned by the Armenian Library and Museum of America (ALMA) regarding the heroic service of the Armenian Legion in World War I. The program, entitled “Forgotten Heroes – The Armenian Legion and the Great War,” was held at the Pasadena Central Library on Sunday, January 3, 2010. The program was sponsored by ALMA, the Armenian Rights Council of America and the Pasadena Armenian National Committee and supported by the Pasadena Armenian Youth Federation “Nigol Touman” Chapter.

International Conference of ARF Youth and Student Organizations Concludes in Yerevan

ARF Youth Mindful, Active and Determined, Says Santikian at ARF Day Celebration

The Armenian Revolutionary Federation marked its 119th anniversary during a celebration event organized by the Central Committee of the ARF-Western USA. More than 1,500 community members flocked to the Glendale High School auditorium to witness a resurgence of the ARF’s commitment to fight for justice and the rights of the Armenian nation. Speaking at the event on behalf of the youth, Arek Santikian, the chairman of the Armenian Youth Federation, reassured the community of the youth’s willingness and determination to carry out its traditional duty to be the vital force of change in society; to hold true to the core values of the ARF, and to struggle for the Armenian nation. AYF Pushes Social Justice With Music; Joins Visa, LA Mission to Feed Homeless on Thanksgiving

The Armenian Youth Federation last month teamed with experimental-fusion rock band Visa and a host of local socially-conscious artists to put-on a special benefit concert that helped feed the less fortunate on Thanksgiving Day through the Los Angeles Mission, a non-profit serving the homeless of Downtown Los Angeles.

Community Pledges to Fight for National Interests at ARF Day Celebration

At Sunday’s 119th anniversary celebration of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation its Western US Central Committee Chairman Avedik Izmirlian said no Armenian government has the right to take decisions against the national interests of Armenians, referring to the current Armenia-Turkey protocols that endanger the national security and future of the Armenian nation.
