Tumo: A Gem on the Hill in Yerevan

Crossing over the Kievyan Bridge in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, you take a right turn onto Halabyan Street where once the expansive Tumanyan Park spread out on the right side of the road—and now is a manicured, professionally landscaped park sporting modern, colorful playgrounds, sports fields and courts and benches that cater to the surrounding populace. ARS One-Day Schools A Vital Link to Cultural Understanding

The Armenian Relief Society of Western USA’s (ARS) mission includes the promotion of the Armenian language and culture. From the early days, ARS members established Saturday schools to pass on the Armenian language and culture to the new generation. These schools became the basis for establishment of the first day schools from the 1960s to the 1980s.
