The Armenian Revolutionary Federation marked its 119th anniversary during a celebration event organized by the Central Committee of the ARF-Western USA. More than 1,500 community members flocked to the Glendale High School auditorium to witness a resurgence of the ARF’s commitment to fight for justice and the rights of the Armenian nation. Speaking at the event on behalf of the youth, Arek Santikian, the chairman of the Armenian Youth Federation, reassured the community of the youth’s willingness and determination to carry out its traditional duty to be the vital force of change in society; to hold true to the core values of the ARF, and to struggle for the Armenian nation. Armen Rustamian, a leading member of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation’s Supreme Council in Armenia is touring East Coast Armenian-American communities visiting with congressional and other U.S. government representatives, announced the ARF Eastern US Central Committee. Rustamyan is also a member of Armenia’s National Assembly, serving as chairman of its Standing Committee on Foreign Relations. During his visit, he will discuss a wide range of issues tied to Armenia’s foreign policy and will reiterate the ARF’s continued opposition to the Armenia-Turkey protocols.

In the Christmas spirit, Pasadena Armenian National Committee members donated toys to needy children at a tree lighting event sponsored by the city and held at City Hall on Tuesday.

At Sunday’s 119th anniversary celebration of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation its Western US Central Committee Chairman Avedik Izmirlian said no Armenian government has the right to take decisions against the national interests of Armenians, referring to the current Armenia-Turkey protocols that endanger the national security and future of the Armenian nation.

At a time when the ethnic press is teetering on the brink of change, the Armenian Weekly celebrates its 75th anniversary with a vision to the future. It has survived a monsoon of editorial exchanges, a transgression of readership, financial instability, unsettled attitudes, and now the electronic age.

Historian Ara Papian and Armenian National Committee of America chairman Ken Hachikian will be the featured keynote speakers at the ARF Day Celebration scheduled to take place on Sunday, December 6 at the Glendale High School Auditorium.

The music of Deleyaman appears to be a contradiction. Both ethereal and earthy, their sound is heavily rooted in the traditions of Armenian folk while embracing the mysticism of the European countryside.
