Karabakh Parliament Calls for International Recognition

The Nagorno-Karabakh Republic National Assembly building

STEPANAKERT—Factions and groups in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic parliament issued a joint announcement Monday calling on the international community to recognize the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.

“The tension at the line of contact between the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic Defense Army and the Azerbaijani armed forces is gradually increasing. Our opponents undertake subversive acts even against the peaceful population. All this is organized by a country, which is a member of the UN Security Council,” read the statement.

Strictly condemning the aggressive and provocative actions of Azeri armed forces, the Artsakh parliamentarians declare:

The military provocations undertaken by Azerbaijan aim to deadlock the negotiation process and incite instability in the region.

The international community should immediately take preventive measures to hold back Azerbaijan’s bellicose policy by recognizing the independence of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic.

The people of Nagorno Karabakh are resolute to defend the territorial integrity of the country and support their independent and sovereign state.

The joint declaration was signed by Armenian Revolutionary Federation, Democracy and Fatherland factions and the Artsakhatun deputy group.

The NKR must build much better defenses such as expanded minefields ,hardened bunkers ,tank traps, and barbed wire fences to prevent Azeri snipers from killing Armenian troops.

agreed we can never have enough of those, but those are useless against snipers
