YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–The Public Relations Department of the Prosecutor General’s Office released the following report on Friday:
"Eleven persons–including Arsen and Tigran Hovsepians–Gevorg Torossian–Arman Baghdasarian–Ashot Sargssian–Arsen Brsoyan–Artur Davtian–Mushegh Manoukian–Araik Gasparian–Aram Muroyan and Samvel Barsanian–have been arrested on suspicion of racketeering–battery–kidnapping and illegal imprisonment of law-enforcement agents on the day of elections in Yerevan’s Ajapniak district.
"All persons arrested are officials of the so-called security service of the Hrazdan Stadium.
"The search in the administrative unit of the fair near the stadium conducted by law-enforcers revealed different types of illegally kept firearms and ammunition.
"An investigation into the four incorporated criminal cases is being run by the investigation department of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Investigation and operative measures are also being applied in relation to ten persons who committed acts of racketeering with the use of weapons.
"We would add that Arman Kocharian–who was arrested on July 11–has been placed under arrest following a court order and charged on counts 133–222 and 232 of the Criminal Code of Armenia.
"The Prosecutor General’s Office urges eye-witnesses to and victims of the illegal acts that took place at polling stations during the elections in Yerevan’s Ajapniak district on July 11 to report to the Prosecutor’s Office of the Ajapniak-Davidashen district or to apply to the investigation department of the Prosecutor General’s Office."
