YEREVAN—U.S. Embassy in Armenia has announced that it no longer requires visa interviews for residents of Armenia who are applying for a non-immigrant visa and are under the age of 10, over the age of 79, or certain applicants who are renewing their visas.
With the implementation of the Interview Waiver Program, the American Embassy in Yerevan seeks to make the visa application process quick and simple for elderly applicants, families traveling with young children, and frequent travelers.
In announcing the program, Consul George Lynn said, “The Interview Waiver Program will result in increased cultural, educational, and commercial interaction between Armenia and the United States, further strengthening the bonds between our nations. This program facilitates legitimate travel to the United States while maintaining the integrity of the visa application process and national security safeguards.”
Consular officers still have the discretion to require an interview from any applicant, even if they qualify for an interview waiver. In addition, a small number of qualified Interview Waiver Program applicants will be randomly selected for interviews.
In announcing the program, Consul George Lynn also failed to mention that this is just one of the ways it was trying to empty the country of its citizens.
You may want to closely scrutinize the myopic policies of the Armenian administration first before blaming others for emptying the country of its citizens.
U.S. will snatch more skilled workers out of Armenia!
I thought Russia takes the lead on this.
strengthening the “bonds”? lol, Ha Achkneris ashughen en….
At least they’re not forcing Armenians to abandon their citizenship like your pals in Moscow are. Or is everything okay when Putin and Moscow does it?
The Russians unlike the sneaky Americans are vocal and clear in their intentions which will eventually save thousands of migrant workers from an uncertain future and many many troubles…
Don’t empty Armenia , we should all move to Armenia and defend our homeland .
