Defense Minister Vows Bolstered Security at Border

Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian

YEREVAN—Since the ceasefire agreement in 1994, Azerbaijan has been constantly escalating tensions at the line of contact by opening fire towards Nagorno Karabakh and infringing on its territory, Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanian said at a government meeting Thursday.

“Over the past few years the tension has expanded to Tavush province in the northeast of Armenia,” Seyran Ohanians said.

Speaking of the recent act of sabotage by Azeri commandos in Karvachar, he said the Ministry of Defense, in cooperation with the Police and the National Security Service, has done its best to investigate the members of the commando group.

“We took relevant measures, sent more troops to that region and revealed all members of the group that entered Karvachar,” Ohanian said.

According to the Minister, the Commanders of the Nagorno Karabakh Defense Army are strengthening the service at the frontline to prevent future attempts of incursion. At the same time, measures are being taken to reassure the population that the army is meeting its tasks.

Your blind hatred of Russia and obvious bias continually allows you to make such juvenile and pointless comments on this website. You should stop making comments for a while in order to prevent making a bigger fool of yourself. Also, try educating yourself a little about current geopolitical events in the region.

I don’t doubt that everyone in Artack is doing his best. It is a matter of life and death..Despite the best efforts, some operations will succeed and some will fail. When dealing with primitive societies, it is important to teach them a lesson that they would never forget. What comes to mind is the story of another little known Armenian Monk/Byzantine General. ” Narses, the Hammer of the Goths” served the Byzantine Court as high Chamberlain. As such it is assumed that he was an eunuch, and therefore a trusted inner circle adviser to the Emperor. The Goths, were raiding the eastern borders time and time again, and all fighting was inconclusive. Until, Nerses got there. He organized the Army, and defeated the Goths and took many prisoners. He blinded every ninety nine captives, tied them together, and the hundredth man he let keep one eye to see and lead the rest home. When the king of the Goths saw his army of thousands all blind and pity full, he died on the spot. The Goths then all left Eastern Europe and went to the other side of the continent to become the Vizigoths. Hmm… I wonder if there e is a lesson to learn from that history. Perhaps that lesson is; That we may have to get medieval with this primitive bunch.

Azerbaijani society is prepared to hate Armenians as well everything Armenian as much as Nazis did hate Jews- This is the nazi like state policy of the dictator in Baku.
Officials in Baku know that they have lost NKR for every. therefore, the mental ill and corrupt officials in Azerbaijani Khanat will continue to harm Armenian and NKR as much as they ca,

Bbetter to put mines at the border. as many as possible, alone the Arax river too!
There should be military post in certain areas – icluding between border of two Armenian states
Population in Artskh should be trained to ask for ID’s when they are going to sell goods or deal with foreigners – In future officials in Baku will certainly make more use of killers returning from Syria and Iraq
