YEREVAN (Mediamax)—The Defense Ministry of the Republic of Armenia has announced that it will conduct military exercises, dubbed “Shant-2015,” beginning tomorrow, September 3, to test Armenia’s military preparedness.
“Shant-2015” will take place from September 3-6. During a briefing at the Department of Defense Policy of the Ministry of Defense today, military attachés of foreign entities in Armenia and representatives of international organizations were informed about the exercise.
“‘Shant-2015’ is a regular exercise and aims to recheck the immediate defense preparedness of the state, the mobilization preparedness of the state and military governing bodies when repulsing aggression and the capability to bring to high degree of readiness, and to raise the harmony of interaction and actions,” reads a press release from the Ministry of Defense.
The ministry noted that considering the military and political situation in and around Armenia, the exercises will be fitted to reflect the geo-political realities as much as possible.
