LITTLE ARMENIA — Hearing the voices of Pilibos K-12th students come together, loud and proud, evokes a feeling that is difficult to describe. On Wednesday, February 17, 2016 Pilibos students participated in the 2nd Annual “Unity Through Music” Sing-a-thon to raise awareness and funds for the difficult situation in Syria and to once again exhibit their connection and pride in their heritage.
In addition, once again, Pilibos was blessed to have the Prelate for the Western Prelacy, His Eminence Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian and His Eminence Archbishop Shahan Sarkissian, Prelate of Aleppo visit our Church and School. During their sermons, they spoke about the situation and conditions in Syria today, focusing on the difficulties for students and schools. Our 9th grade students sang hymns as part of the church choir further heightening the experience for the students.
“Artyok Ovker En” and “Mer Hayreneek” are only examples of the melodies that reverberated through the Pilibos campus. Ranging from the small underdeveloped sounds of the Kindergarteners to the deep undertones of the seniors, the sounds came together as did the entire school to once again show who Pilibos is!
