BEIRUT, Lebanon – During a visit to Lebanon, the Armenian delegation headed by Armenia’s Minister of Economic Development and Investments Suren Karayan met with Lebanese President, General Michel Aoun in Beirut, reported the press service of the Ministry of Economic Development and Investments.
The Lebanese President highly appreciated the Armenian-Lebanese relations calling on to strengthen them in all directions, particularly in economic.
“Lebanese Armenians play an important role in strengthening relations between Lebanon and Armenia,” said Aoun. The President of Lebanon also called for the businessmen of the two countries to cooperate actively with each other.
Karayan stressed the importance of economic cooperation and investment opportunities.
“The Armenian delegation is in Lebanon today with the invitation of the State Minister for Planning Affairs Michel Pharaon and our main goal is to strengthen cooperation with our partners in the Lebanese economic institutions,” said Minister Karayan. “We consider that the potential of economic cooperation between Lebanon and Armenia has not yet been properly realized.”
“Together with Minister Pharaon we have agreed to develop economic cooperation in those areas where there is still much work to do,” added the Minister.
The sides also discussed the opportunities to boost the cooperation in tourism field.
