
At 11:45 local time on December 7, 1988 a devastating earthquake, epicentered in Spitak, Armenia, ravaged the area leaving 25,000 deadline thousands of others wounded. An international releif effort followed as Armenian communities throughout the world came together to support their fellow brethren in Armenia. Then Presiden George Bush sent a delegation to offer US assistance to earthquake ravaged Armenia, headed by the current President George Bush. Armenia has been slow to recover the devastation and 18 years later certain areas of the earthquake zone remain under construction. As a nation, we remember the victims of this tragedy.
