”Today, on May 13 at 14:00 (2 p.m.) Azerbaijani troops opened fire from large caliber weapons in the direction of Berkaber village of Tavush Province, damaging some houses. The enemy was silenced following an adequate retaliation by the Armenian border guards,’’ Defense Ministry spokesperson Shushan Stepanyan wrote in Facebook post, adding that there were no casualties.

In late March, a teenage boy and two Armenian soldiers were injured when Azerbaijani troops fired at positions and civilian targets on the Armenia-Azerbaijan border in the Noyemberian region of Tavush Province.

That incident prompted the Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization Stanislav Zas to express concern. He told Armenpress at the time that the fact that this incident is taking place when the international community is collectively combating the coronavirus pandemic is perplexing.

“It is perplexing that the escalation is happening at a time when the international community is waging a united battle against the coronavirus pandemic. In this regard I am calling on the parties to the conflict to heed the United Nations Secretary General’s calls on a global ceasefire,” Zas told Armenpress at the time.

Last month, after a video conference, the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers Zohrab Mnatsakanyan and Elmar Mammadyarov issued a joint announcement, along with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairmen, pledging their countries’ adherence to the UN Secretary General’s calls for a global ceasefire

Armenia is CSTO country so if there is an attack on CSTO country, does CSTO fire back/attack the enemy? or says MOLODETS Azerbaijan. The way I see it Russia with Turkey are doing what Persia and Greece did with Armenia in 700’s until collapse of Greece. Russia needs to keep in mind that somehow God punishes the countries that don’t treat Armenia properly, a good example of that is Iran and Greece. Right under Russia’s nose China is getting stronger and Russia will be a history if it continues treating it’s vassal Armenia like the way it does.

I don’t understand why is this constantly happening? now that they are attacking civilians why don’t we wipe off that area (bombard) where all these firing is coming from? we don’t need any justification since they are attacking Armenia and not Artsakh and are attacking civilians and not military. If we don’t do anything this will always continue and will never stop, something has to be done to permanently shut them off.

There is only one way to respond to this indiscriminate criminal act and that is to level to the ground an entire Azerbaijani village with no regards to loss of life. Make them feel the consequence of their action on their skin. Do not let this go unpunished if you want them to sober up and learn their lesson. If it happens again use even deadlier weapons by destroying two villages and turn them into uninhabitable scorched earth. The worst thing you can do is to do nothing because these pseudo-Turkish Azerbaijani cowards feed off of your passivity and inaction. If a barking dog is foaming at the mouth you don’t pet that dog you euthanize it.

Armenian village is attacked and nothing happens???? How is this normal? How can Armenian territory be attacked and the defense minister says we stopped it. The defense minister should not only stop it, but also attack back and destroy the posts that attacked Armenia. And then the defense minister should make some buffer zone to make sure nothing like this happens again. I don’t understand Pashinyan and the leadership of Armenia. Armenia was attacked!!!!!!!! And the leadership is acting like it’s just another day. Unbelievable
