PICO RIVERA, Calif.—Students have been accepted to outstanding programs and institutions throughout the United States and have been offered what amounts to hundreds of thousands of dollars in scholarships. One of the seniors was accepted directly from high school into law school with an offer for a scholarship.
The institutions and programs to which students in the 2014 high school graduating class have been accepted are: U.C. Berkeley, U.C. Irvine Honors Program, U.C. Santa Barbara Honors Program, U.C. Santa Cruz, California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, California State University, Long Beach, California State University, Fullerton, California State University, Los Angeles, Whittier College with $26,000 per year scholarships as John Greenleaf Whittier Scholars, Drexel University School of Law (Philadelphia) with $20,000 per year scholarship, Fordham University (New York) with $10,000 per year scholarship, DePaul University (Chicago), Saint John’s University (New York), California Lutheran University, Woodbury University, Santa Monica College, Pasadena City College, and Rio Hondo College.
“These students took advantage of the opportunities that Mesrobian High School offers including honors and AP classes as well as the personalized attention provided by the school,” said Neil Dodd, Mesrobian’s Academic Director and College Counselor. Dodd added, “These students always showed great potential and they certainly lived up to it.”
Armenian Mesrobian School, established in 1965, is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and has Nursery School (2 years old) through High School (12th Grade) on the same campus. Besides this being a major convenience for parents, who may have children at multiple ages, it offers a unique perspective and opportunity for students, teachers, and parents to grow together, and for students to get the attention and nurturing they need to be successful in school and in life. Mesrobian alumni have distinguished themselves in fields as diverse as education, business, medicine, music, law, dentistry, chiropractic, politics, engineering, and psychology.
