LOS ANGELES–The closing ceremonies of the 26th Annual Homenetmen Navasartian Games were held on Sunday–July 8 with close to 18,000 community members in attendance. Also attending the closing ceremonies were representatives from the Armenian and Nagorno-Karabakh republics.
Close to 4,000 Homenetmen members took part in a special parade in commemoration of the 1700th anniversary of Christianity’s adoption by Armenia’s.
Speakers included Prelate Bishop Moushegh Mardirossian–representatives of the regional and central executives of Homenetmen–and Homenetmen member Misak Arzoumanian of Lebanon.
An awards ceremony was held that same day.
The annual Victory Ball held at the Universal Hilton on Saturday was attended by over 1,000 people. The symbolic tricolor ribbon was transferred from the previous honorary chairperson to the current one. Also recognized was ‘Model Homenetmen 2001 Member" Jassik Jarahian.
The honorary chairpersons for this year’s Games were Vatche and Jane Soghomonian.
