YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)-A second-year film student at the Armenian Pedagogical Institute received an award at an international film festival in the French city of Anjeaux–held Jan. 17-24.
Vartan Hakopian directed the film–"Cest la Vie," which is a true story about Souren Seyranian– a researcher at the Mechanics Institute of the National Academy of Sciences.
In 1993–Seyranian answered a telephone call from a girl who had dialed the wrong number– and after a short conversation– proceeded to sing an Italian song for her. The girl told her friends about Seyranian and soon–he was singing songs over the phone to anyone who had a request.
Currently–several residents of Yerevan know his phone number. They still call Seyranian and he still sings to them.
