PASADENA–The Armenian National Committee-Political Action Committee announced today that it had endorsed city council candidates–Chris Holden [District 3]–and Bill Crowfoot [District 5]–and Sarah Smith Orr [District 7] and PUSD Board candidates George A. Padilla [Seat 1]–Lisa H. Fowler [Seat 3]– and Bonnie Armstrong [Seat 5] in the March 4–local elections.
City Council
Chris Holden [District 3] – As Vice Mayor for the City of Pasadena since 1995–Holden was elected to the city Council in 1989–and re-elected in 1993. If re-elected he will serve as Mayor of Pasadena.
Bill Crowfoot [District 5] – Crowfoot is a member of the Pasadena City Council to which he was elected in March 1993.
Sarah Smith Orr [District 7] – Orr is running against two other candidates for District 7. If elected will replace Council member Bill Thompson who will be retiring.
Pasadena Unified School District
George A. Padilla [Seat 1] – An incumbent serving on the board of education as president.
Lisa H. Fowler [Seat 3] – Currently serving on the board of education and is running uncontested.
Bonnie Armstrong [Seat 7] – Has an M.A. in Human Development from Pacific Oaks College specializing in Leadership in Education. She is running against two other candidates.
"The ANC-PAC has endorsed these candidates because they distinguished themselves as strong leaders who have–in a variety of ways–proven their support on issues concerning the Armenian-American community in Pasadena," stated Aida Dimejian–Chairperson of Pasadena Chapter of the ANC.
The ANC-PAC urges all Armenian-Americans to vote on March 4 and support these candidates in the election.
