Azeri Arms Accusations Do Not Impress NATO Leaders

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–At a recent meeting of the NATO Military Committee in Brussels–Chiefs of General Headquarters of Armed Forces of the North Atlantic Cooperation Council member-states summed up the results of cooperation in the field of armamen’s and discussed possibilities of expanding such cooperation.

Speaking at the meeting–Chief of General Headquarters of Armenia’s Armed Forces Lieutenant General Haroutiunian touched upon Armenian-NATO cooperation within the framework of the Partnership for Peace Program–referring to major trends of the individual Partnership Program.

Placing stress on Armenia’s willingness to cooperate–Haroutiunian referred to some objective difficulties standing in the way of such cooperation. Haroutiunian described as biased Azerbaijan’s statemen’s that Armenia had illegally purchased armamen’s from Russia. He called on Azerbaijan to start a constructive cooperation to get a peaceful resolution to the Karabakh crisis.
