YEREVAN (Respublica Armenia)–A delegation of IAEA visited Yerevan–to teach the personnel of the Medzamor Nuclear Power Plant with the mechanism of so-called self-estimation of incidents taking place in nuclear plants.
According to the INES scale–such incidents can be qualified by 7 levels. Lower levels (1-3) are called incidents–the upper ones (4-7) are emergencies.
Accidents which are insignificant from the security point of view are qualified as the zero level.
Particularly–the Chernobyl accident was qualified as being of the highest.
Most of the incidents–which took place in the Medzamor nuclear plant this year–were rated by IAEA as zero–although incidents up to the second level have been reported-that related with a failure of security devices and anomalies from the normal operation.
