YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Catholicos of All Armenia’s–Karekin I–and the Patriarch-Catholicos of Georgia–Ilia II–visited the memorial complex of Dzidzernagabert Wednesday to commemorate the victims of the 1915 Genocide.
Karekin I said that the visit was a reminder that the victims shed their blood for the sake of today’s statehood and independence.
Ilia II said that both Georgian and Armenian land is saturated with the blood of victims who fought for freedom and independence and added that today–the free life of the Armenian people is the manifestation of its independent spirit.
Ilia II concluded his visit by saying that despite the difficult and painful path traveled by the Armenian people–its spirit was and will remain inflexible.
