Arzoumanian Says Integration Into Europe a Priority

YEREVAN (Noyan Tapan)–Armenia’s Foreign Minister Alexander Arzoumanian met with the Ukrainian parliamentary delegation led by Chairman of the Supreme Rada Alexander Moroz Thursday to discuss the development of bilateral relations as well as their positions on a number of key problems both international and within the Commonwealth of Independent States.

Arzoumanian stressed that Armenia’s top priority is to be integrated in the European structure’s foreign policy.

They also addressed problems associated with economic cooperation–transportation–communications and energy safety.

Moroz stressed that both countries may become a transit zone linking Europe to the Middle East. Arzoumanian and Moroz also stressed the importance of interaction within the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

Arzoumanian said that such cooperation may be very effective since both countries co-chair the BSEC.
