Glendale ANC Endorses School Bond Initiative

GLENDALE–The Armenian National Committee-Glendale Chapter announced its endorsement of the Glendale Unified School District Bonds Initiative which will be on the ballot at a special election scheduled for Tuesday– June 3.

This Bonds initiative–the first in the District since 1964–will raise much needed funds for structural renovations and improvemen’s of every one of the 27 elementary–middle and high schools in Glendale.

The total of the proposed bond measure is $186 million–and the expected usage of the bond will entail a $156 million allocation to renovating–upgrading and modernizing projects of existing classrooms and schools in the district–while $30 million of the total is proposed for acquiring land and constructing new classrooms and school facilities on existing campuses and sites for the future.

"The passage of the bonds measure is an imperative in ensuring quality education and living standards for the Glendale community. Not only will we be able to improve the school facilities–and subsequently the quality of the education our children receive–but because of the direct link between the resale value of homes and the quality of our schools–good educational facilities will ensure high property value for everyone," explained ANC-Glendale Chapter chairperson Rafi Manoukian.

The ANC-Glendale Chapter encourages all registered voters to be at the polls on Tuesday–June 3–in order to cast their affirmative voice for the bonds measure.
