Details of Talbott’s Visit to the Caucasus Disclosed

WASHINGTON (Itar-Tass)–The details of a possible conflict resolution for the Nagorno-Karabakh region by Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s Minsk Group US co-chair Strobe Talbott–during his recent trip to Turkey–Armenia–Azerbaijan and Nagorno-Karabakh were disclosed to journalists by State Department Spokesman Nicholas Burns Wednesday.

"Talbott visited these countries with the Russian and French co-chairmen of the Nagorno-Karabakh team. He is very much pleased with the fact that all the three co-chairmen had cooperated most effectively," Burns added.

"We suggested to the Armenia’s–the Nagorno-Karabakh Armenia’s and the Azeris some new ideas concerning the peace settlement–which could–in the long run–result in the restoration of peace for Karabakh," Burns said.

Burns refused to disclose the details of these proposals–but stressed that the United States was adamant on actively striving for their implementation.
