YEREVAN (Combined Sources)–A new newspaper–entitled Hayots Ashkharh (Armenian World) hit news stands Tuesday.
The publication of the newspaper has been met with encouragement from numerous news agencies and other newspapers in Armenia.
The Azg daily–the official publication of the Armenian Democratic League of Armenia reported that the new publication was deemed to be the unofficial organ of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation–whose publications were all shut down and its equipment and supplies confiscated following the now infamous Dec. 28–1994 presidential decree banning the activities of that party in Armenia.
Gagik Mkrtchian was named the chief editor of Hayots Ashkhar and its staff is comprised of former employees of Yerkir–the official publication of the ARF in Armenia.
