BSEC Member Countries Urged to Strengthen Ties

ATHENS (Itar-Tass)–Russian State Duma deputy speaker Artur Chilingarov stressed the need to strengthen relations between members-states of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation.

He led a Russian delegation at the ninth plenary session of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly which was held in Athens Tuesday through Thursday.

The session were attended by representatives of Albania–Azerbaijan– Armenia–Greece–Georgia–Moldavia–Russia–Romania–Turkey and the Ukraine–as well as Egypt–Israel and the UN High Commissioner on Refugees as observers.

They unanimously voted for Bulgaria’s membership in the Parliamentary Assembly.

Chilingarov was elected one of the deputy chairmen of the BSEC Parliamentary Assembly which is chaired by Moldavian parliament speaker Dumitru Motpan.
